“Everyone is unique and special in their own ways”- Anonymous. I have great belief in this quote and as time goes by I am astonished at how true it is. I myself consider my great passion for singing, playing the organ and acting is the thing that made me who I am now and distinguish me from the other boys.
If you have a chance to visit our beautiful country Vietnam, you will discover one special thing about the people: the concept of boys and men. In Vietnam, we consider that boys have to be good strong, masculine and be good at sports. Because of that, everyone think that it is awkward to find a boy who is interested in arts as I am.
I consider acting a very interesting activity. I always love to take part in a play and be a character in it. The feeling of not being yourself for a short period of time, the feeling of morphing into somebody else’s appearance and character attracted me. Furthermore, acting is quite a difficult art to master because you have to act with all your soul and mind, if not you will look like an emotionless statue who is trying in vain to express those fake feelings. All of that are definitely suitable for a person who always want to move forward and accept challenges like me. Thus, I recently became a member of the school’s drama club and I act nearly all classes of Literature and History. Therefore it is easy to understand why my friends are used to call me “Drama queen”.
But what truly make me who I am is my passion for singing. I love to sing. I sing whenever I am free. I guess my passion in singing came from the fact that I learned to play the organ piano since I was four until last year. I find myself ecstatic in the rhythm and the beat of the song created by my hands and mouth. Music really does clean the soul, because when I sing I feel relaxed and relieved. When I am singing and playing the organ at the same time, the world seems to stand still and there are nothing else beside my organ and me. After a hard day of studying, I would rather put all my feelings in a song and sing it out loud. A song that matches my feeling at that time will probably appear in my head, like a good friend that is always there when you need to share your feelings. Recently, my hobby became known and appreciated by my family and friend. My class always choose me to be the class’s lead singer for any singing contest. The latest event was me singing “Bad romance” by Lady Gaga in front of my whole school. At first I was a bit scared but then I gained my confidence and give the audience all I have got. That resulted in a huge round of applause like a nuclear bomb tearing the hall apart.
I am a person that is full of energy. Energy to learn and energy to participate in different kinds of activities. I believe that I can contribute to the community that I live in a boy that is not only do well in school but also a person who is willing to share with other people his passions and hobbies. Therefore, I can contribute to the diversity of the school I go to, making it a place with different culture and people.
