Writer in Residence and author Michelle Chan Brown kicked off the spring Tuesday Night Speaker Series by reading her own works of poetry in honor of National Poetry Month.
Prior to reading her poems during the evening, Michelle shared how each of her works was inspired. She spoke of how her “Poem a Day” prompts with her literature class led her to write about Moorish castle she saw during her travels in Lisbon.
She read a 14-line sonnet, which was inspired by the hypnotist she saw while on weekend duty and she also read the title poem from her Kore Press Award winning book Double Agent.
Michelle’s poems showed the variety of style, humor, seriousness and intrigue, and was a terrific way to celebrate poetry!
Michell Brown là cô giáo English của Su từ đầu năm đến giờ. Su đang theo lớp English IV Honor và bắt đầu tập tễnh làm thơ vì đó là nội dung bắt buộc của course.
